It is a grave insult actually. So much so that we are now compelled to declare a blood feud between our houses

ah, doesnt matter there was a DD with a little graphic error in so it would have been embarassing if anyone had downloaded it.

going to upload updated packs now.

i would appreciate some feedback, iŽd like to know if the icons should be the same as in config/models.csv eg. japanese DD 5 and 6 being exactly the same classes as in the spreadsheet which would mean that they are smaller than previous DDs or if i should mod more freely and make everything a bit nicer for people who dont care for the exact classes anyway, eg following the bigger/better/newer scheme.

btw here are the ships that are included in the packages so far:

any comments how to further improve them ?

-edit: image deleted, updated one at the bottom of the thread

The japanese BBs? They look a little bit too thin to me, so would it be possible to stretch the image vertically a little bit to bulk them out? When I tried making icon plates for german ships (an abysmal failure :P) what I did was make the height 2 times what it would have been according to the ratio when shrinking, so maybe that might fatten them up a little bit in this case as well? I think its only an issue with the japanese BB IV and maybe BC IV, but the others are great. Overall I think they look excellent

hmm i think if i stretch the ships as they are now they would look rather ugly, but i can add 1 or 2 lines to the hull. besides i think the subs should be made bigger, allthough the sizes now are somewhat realistic.

anyway i made some tanks for italy, france and japan today.

obviously i used us tanks for the late franch models but the others are the same as they are listed in models.csv.

the package is available at the first post.

Amazing work on the ships . Will you be doing italian/german models as well in the hazy future?

Hannibal,
I have been using your ships in my campaign and really do like them! I will check out you tank icons after I get home from work. I hope your ships icons are part of the update... IMO they are very good.

Cheers

hi hannibal,
this is really superb work. However i will wait one more update to include it, as i know there is always some improvements and the set will get more complete.
What is the icon-fix for? do i have to add this for correct display in the combat-screen?

Pictures too big

I posted this on the Paradox forum too, but I figutred I'd say it here.

Very nice pictures, good job.

Might I make a suggestion though? Reduce them by 25%. The old ones are too small, but these new ones are too big.

Three reasons:
1. I noticed some of the new pictures crawl into the stat line, or crowd it at any rate, which kind of looks weird. Shrinking them will make sure none crawl out of their box and thus don't look funny.

2. At present, the new oil icon sits on top of the first stat for aircraft, which isn't good. So I modified it to sit signifcantly to the left (and up a little too, so it isn't right against the bottom edge) which works very nice. But, it would run into your new pictures, which is also not good. So, shrink the pictures a little, and all is good.

3. These pictures are also way larger than the other unit pictures which also is also a little weird, so again I recommend shrinking them down a bit to keep them on par with the rest.

I also noticed (from pictures here) that they crowd the 'shot' icon in the battle screen, so that is another reason to shrink them back a little.

Just my nickle.

thanks, the iconfix changes three icons: the background boxes where units are put in the production and combat screen and makes them wider as well places the shooting symbol at the right edge of the combat display.
i will complete the sets the next time allthough i have to improvise on some tech levels since some ships have never been built.

i fear resizing isnt an option since the current size is basically the minimum size to show some detail.

hmm, i think i might resize the box as well since ground/air/naval units use diffrent status boxes.

kronoss might have fixed that although i havent looked into that yet since it was always a minor matter too me.

what other pictures? obviously naval icons cant use the same format as ground/air units do.

@Za Rodinu: you think cannonfodder should look ugly ? :P
